MacDoctors is an excellent business. If you need a house call, look no further. I was visiting my 88 year old father & he had a myriad of issues with his computer. He couldn't remember his password to get onto his computer, for starters. He had purchased a new printer but it wasn't yet hooked up, his deceased wife's name was still the default for the home page...Etc. It was a mess that I couldn't untangle. So I called MacDoctors. Wow. They came to the house--I was gone by this time, but I had listed all the things that needed fixing via an email. Everything was addressed. The follow up email, from Alan, our technician, was clear & listed everything i needed to know. That way, if my dad runs into trouble again, I can help him with the steps. He also made a clear, concise list of passwords, etc. for my dad. I was thrilled with the service, the kindness, & the patience that Alan displayed toward my father. Highly recommended!!!

My Macbook Pro died on Monday and I was in a panic. Usual repairman couldn't fit me in til late Wednesday and told me by the description I shared that the laptop was basically useless.
On Wednesday I got a 2nd opinion by calling MacDoctors.

(1) free advice from Alan immediately via call and text; (2) appointment Thursday morning 10 AM; (3) instructions on how to back up everything in anticipation of replacing the hard drive; (4) HE COMES TO YOU at no extra charge; (5) the guy is a GENIUS, plus he's super focused and never made me feel like a dummy for some of the (likely dumb) questions I had. If you have a Mac problem you need to call Alan. I will NEVER use another tech again.

I had the good fortune of finding MacDoctors as a result of a google search. I had an old iMac and an old hard drive both of which contained various photo, video, music, word and excel files. It was a mess. Fortunately, Alan from MacDoctors came to the rescue. This was a complex job given the multiple locations and libraries. Alan came to my house right on time, and worked his magic. He was professional, courteous, communicative and reasonable. He asked very good questions to understand exactly what I wanted to accomplish and asked me follow up questions as necessary. When he was done, I had my new iMac with 15 years of files where they belonged. And he set up a back up system with multiple redundancies. I give MacDoctors my highest recommendation.

Hello Mac people with an Apple Mac memory loss issue or ANYTHING else Mac computer related... I just had Alan from MacDoctors Onsite Apple Computer Repair company help me restore my laptop and he was great.
He's a Mac doctor that makes house calls! Well worth the money because like all good customer service, he over-delivers, and explains why a computer may need an occasional tune-up. He came and made my machines much more efficient and resolved a serious Microsoft Office problem that was holding up my work flow!
I got to see the fixes and tricks he employed to clean up and tune up my Mac.

After having done much online research and spending 2 hours on overseas Apple support I could not solve my sudden lack of internet connectivity. There was something wrong and I could not solve it. Everyone in the house could access the net but me.
So, I reached out to MacDoctors on the strength of the previous Yelp reviews, hoping my result would be as good. It was.
I got a quick response to my call and text and was soon on my way to sorting out the issue. No attitude, no ridiculous pricing, and even got additional texts returned way after business hours.

I love my MAC, but it's not perfect. Bugs, malware, duplicate folders, slow internet, old operating systems - that could take me days/weeks to figure out. Time is money!
Alan fixed my Mac in few hours, and most importantly he explained what he did and how I can maintain it better.
My MacBook pro 2014 was acting slow and I was mentally preparing to renew it. I'm very very satisfied that there are specialist like Alan, who fix and explain along the way the reason for the problem, so it won't happen again. And he comes to you! What can be better! Thanks to Alan; in less than one hour I not only learned more about my own machine; i picked up great shortcuts and tricks.
So this comp guru guy comes equipped with his tiny slim box of Mac nutrition and solutions, a professional and unimposing character. His disposition is calming and I stopped freaking out almost immediately.
He is extremely knowledgeable, very fair price wise, and doesn't do that annoying conversation during silences. He is not judge mental, in fact he never flinched (I'm going to hell for the things I think he saw).
He is definitely a permanent fix in my life as far as computer freak out goes.

I read the reviews here on Yelp and called Alan last Tuesday and about 8:15am. He called me back at 9am and was at my home at 10am. I have a 27" mid-2010 iMac. It would hang on startup for about 10 minutes, freeze whenever I tried to open an app or even work within the app, and take forever to shut down. I started thinking about buying a new iMac, but after speaking with Alan on the phone, he thought the problem most likely was just an old, tired, hard drive. He came over, tested it, and sure enough that was the problem. My computer is now running like new and I have Alan to thank for it. He even figured out why my son's MacBook had slowed down and uninstalled the offending programs. He will be my go-to-guy from now on. I highly recommend you give Alan a call first. Alan = Mac Genius. Mac Desktop or Mac Laptop, all MACs! His response time is fast, his sense of urgency is huge, and his prices are very reasonable.
I have called on Alan - the "Mac Doctor" twice in the past 2 years. The first time he came to my house within 24 hours (I called on a Sunday, showed up on Monday) as our family Mac desktop was moving so slow after 4-5 years of owning it and 10,000 photos downloaded (many duplicates), we couldn't stand the delays any longer. He used his magic in 90 minutes re-configuring the data and moving the photos to a place they should have been in, then not only shaved off a few $$, but installed more memory from a drive he had in his car.
The 2nd time was today, a Saturday, for my work MacBook Air Laptop, where I clicked on a legit looking flash drive update for Google Chrome, after which I immediately knew I fucked up and I was in pop-up hell and frozen screens telling me I needed to call an 855 number to get the virus fixed (helllooo-noooo). I have a high pressure job and work weekends, so I called the Mac Doctor again, and he did not disappoint.
He responded within 2 hours, and with mutual trust I allowed him remote access to my laptop where he spent 45 minutes deleting all the evil virus/malware bits hidden in the bowels of my system. I trusted him to remotely dial in, and he trusted me to send a check after.
Alan is a reliable, responsive, and a trustworthy Mac genius. Don't waste your time and energy trying to google solutions, he is the man.

Whenever anything goes wrong with one of our Macs we call MacDoctors. They have been looking after us for 5 years and we wouldn't trust anyone else. The older you get, the more comforted you are by the certain knowledge that you have "go-tos" for certain things in life -- a reliable guy for your car; plumber; electrician; doctors and physical therapists for the various things that, increasingly, are going wrong with you. And you want someone that can take care of your damn computer because even with a Mac, where even the non-tech-savvy can sort a fair number of problems out themselves, you do run up against it sometimes and when you do, you want to KNOW that there is a number to call for relief when
1. Your Mac will only boot 1/3 of the way up and won't make that familiar, reassuring "dooonnnggg" sound that tells you all is right with your world when doing so -- and at the 2/3 mark, it just goes dark.
2. When it was running, just before it conked to black the first time, one of your external hard drives was locked for some weird reason and all you could get out of it was a mysteriously labeled error code that no amount of internet research would decrypt
3. The data on said hard drive appeared to be inaccessible and perhaps even nonexistent -- not only could it not be opened, copied, or moved out of the drive to any other location, but it appeared to exist now only as 'images' of files -- and all of this data was about 4-500 hours of power point presentations and video lectures for the online courses I teach.
Needless to say -- I was seriously concerned.
Especially because -- yay -- my Time Machine had also crapped out, and...get the picture?
But, dig it -- Alan swooped in, all decked out in his red and blue tights, red cape, big red 'S' on his chest and did what he always does -- totally saved the day. Every problem solved, and then some, and the world, not to mention my Mac, is spinning in greased grooves.

There are a few times in life when you have the privilege to encounter someone who is not only a world class professional, calm, courteous, prompt, and patient with the non computer savvy.
Alan has excellent communication skills and ethics.
He went out of his way to save us a few thousand dollars when he could easily have told us we needed to buy something expensive and new when what we had still had plenty of useful life. Alan is the real deal, knows what he is doing, and does it without a fuss.

You may think "lifesaver" is way too strong a word for a computer guy - right? WRONG!
As a self-employed business owner, I had taken my computer to Apple for a recall on the keyboard. I went to pick it up today and they said, "Oh by the way, we replaced some things and had to erase all your data."
After I picked myself up off the floor, I realized that Alan at MacDoctors had me purchase a back up drive some months ago, in case my computer ever crashed.
I got home (on a Sunday) and emailed him my problem to see if he could take everything from the back up drive and come by to put it on my new computer.
I swear within five minutes, my phone rang and it was him. After listening to my rantings and worries that I would never see my date again, he calmly told me what to do.
