True story:
A girl calls. She is in tears.
She had taken her MacBook Pro to the Apple Store Genius Bar because her hard drive had failed. They take it in the back so the technician can assess and then repair.
They come back out soon after, hand the machine back to her and tell her they cannot work on it because it is a BIOHAZARD!
They tell her Apple’s policy is if they find any type of unidentifiable matter, blood, insect or animal infestation, it immediately forces them to close it the machine up and refuse service.
She called us because we at MacDoctors are Apple Certified Technical Specialists and offer repair service for almost any type of Apple computer.
Well, we repaired the machine for her. And she was happy!
Of course, this was after we first performed a THOROUGH interior cleaning, bringing it back to almost-new condition.
It was like a CSI episode in there! Besides the dirt and hair and dust and plant matter, there were bugs in it. Both dead and alive!
Yes! Her computer had a bug! Or seven or eight…
