Emergency iMac repair to the rescue!!
A small business owner calls – the hard drive failed in his 27″ 2012 iMac. His whole business is on that one little tin can called a hard drive!.
As we encounter way too often, he never used Apple’s built-in, free, incredibly easy-to-use Time Machine application to automatically back up the iMac’s hard drive onto an external drive.
We arrive, test it and ascertain the drive is, in fact, failing.
We cut off the glued-on display assembly (uh, thanks Apple!), swap drives, re-adhere the display and begin to transfer all his stuff from the old drive into the new, using special cables and adapters.

After successfully transferring the data from the old drive into the new, a happy startup sign on the iMac and our happy customer was back up and running his business with barely a hitch!
Of course, we provided an external drive so they can now use Time machine, formatted it, configured and initiated it and now they will never lose another bit or byte of data!
